knock 是敲，door 是门，敲门用 knock the door 看似没什么毛病，但是 knock the door 更偏向撞门，粗暴地撞倒的含义，会给人一种不礼貌的感觉。

这里有两种准确表达敲门的说法，其实就是介词的作用：
➤knock on the door 敲门
➤knock at the door 敲门，撞墙
