Supporting Documents and Relative Requirement

1. Valid passport or other international travel documents.

1. 有效护照或其他国际旅行证件。

2. Completing the VISA / STAY PERMIT / RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM with black ink or sign pen, attached with a recent half-length, white background, bareheaded, full-faced color photo (3.5x5.3 cm).

2.填写签证/居留许可/居留许可申请表时，请使用黑色墨水或签字笔，并附上近期的半身白底免冠彩色正面照片(3.5 x5.3厘米)。

3. Valid accommodation registration form of the applicant obtained from local police station or hotel of present residence.

3. 申请人在当地派出所或现居住地酒店领取的有效住宿登记表。

4. Supporting materials on the identification of foreign nationals of Chinese origin as follows:

a. Applicants of former Chinese nationality shall provide the former personal ID card, domicile registration Certificate, Chinese passport, certificate of the renunciation of Chinese nationality issued by the Ministry of Public Security and other Relevant materials.

a. 前中国国籍申请人应当提供前身份证、户籍登记证、中国护照、公安部签发的退出中国国籍证明和其他有关材料。

b. Applicants whose parents, any or both of whom, are foreign national of Chinese origin, shall provide Supporting materials relating to the former Chinese nationality of the parent(s), the applicant's birth certificate or equivalent document and other relevant materials.

b. 申请人的父母（任何一方或双方均为中国籍外籍人士）应提供与父母原中国国籍有关的证明材料、申请人的出生证明或同等文件及其他有关材料。

c. Applicants whose parents, any or both of whom, are Chinese citizen, shall provide personal ID of the Chinese nationality of the parent(s), the applicant's birth certificate or equivalent document and other relevant materials.

c. 父母一方或双方均为中国公民的申请人，应提供父母的中国国籍身份证、申请人的出生证明或同等文件及其他有关资料。

5. Relevant certificates of the host organization relating to its legal status in Beijing, such as enterprise business license, Registration Certificate of Permanent Representative Institution of Foreign (Regional) Enterprise, etc.

5.主办机构与其在北京的法律地位有关的证明文件，如企业营业执照、外国（地区）企业常驻代表机构登记证等。

As for following applications, if the host organization has not changed as in the first time application, no Enterprise Business License or Registration Certificate of Permanent Representative Institution of Foreign (Regional) Enterprise is needed.

对于下列申请，如果主办单位与首次申请时一样没有变更，则不需要《企业营业执照》或《外国（地区）企业常驻代表机构登记证》。

6. Verification letter that expressing consent on the visa application by the host and inviting organization, which shall give every detail of the applicant's travel to China and all information provided shall be true and correct.

6.主办单位和邀请单位对签证申请表示同意的核实函，其中应详细说明申请人来华旅行的情况和所提供的一切信息，应真实无误。

Timeline for Application

申请时间表

1. M visa holders may apply for an extension with validity of up to 180 days.

1. M签证持有人可以申请延期，有效期最长为180天。

2. Non-M visa holders may apply for a visa renewal with the validity of less than 5 year, the stay duration of less than 180 days and multiple entries. However the accumulative duration of stay with the renewed visa could not exceed 1 year from the date of the latest entry of China.

2.非M签证持有人可申请有效期不超过5年、居留期不超过180天和多次入境的签证续期。然而，续签签证的累计居留时间从最近一次进入中国的日期起不得超过1年。

Points for Attention

注意事项

1. The applicant shall go through a face-to-face interview. However, for applicants who are aged above 60 and inconvenient to travel or apply for an extension of residence permit due to disability, the host organization, the family member of the applicant or a particular service agency can submit the application on behalf of the applicant (a copy of the trustee's ID is required). Nonetheless, if the Exit-Entry Administration Department notifies the applicant that an interview is necessary, the applicant must go through the interview personally.

1.申请人应进行面对面的面试。然而，如申请人年满60岁，因残疾而不便前往或申请延长居留许可证，主办机构、申请人的家庭成员或某一服务机构可代申请人递交申请（须提供受托人身份证副本）。尽管如此，如果出入境管理部门通知申请人需要面谈，申请人必须亲自进行面谈。

2. For the above-stated materials, the original documents need to be verified, and the photocopies submitted.

3. Any application material in foreign language (except English) should be translated into Chinese.

3. 任何外文申请材料（英文除外）必须翻译成中文。

4. Applicant who doesn't nullify China's household registration should apply after the cancellation of household registration.

4. 未注销中国户籍的申请人应在户籍注销后提出申请。

5. Foreigners under 18 who submit the application for the first time in China shall prepare the Birth Certificate or equivalent document, passports and permanent resident permit of parents and other relative documents as certification of nationality.

5.第一次在中国境内申请的18岁以下外国人，应当准备出生证明或者同等文件、父母的护照、永久居留证和其他有关文件作为国籍证明。

Legal Reminders

法律提示

1. Foreigners residing in China who apply for the visa extension shall file their applications to the exit and entry administration department of public security bureau of the local governments at or above the county level of the present residing place at least 7 days prior to the expiry of the validity period on their visa.

1.在中国境内居住的外国人申请延长签证期限，应当在签证有效期届满前7天至少向目前居住地县级以上地方政府公安出入境管理部门提出申请。

2. The valid period of visa issued to the applicant shall not be exceeding the valid date of the valid passport or other international travel document.

2.发给申请人的签证有效期不得超过有效护照或其他国际旅行证件的有效日期。

3. During the period when the applicant's passport or other travel document is under legal custody of the exit-entry authority for the issuance of visa, the applicant may, bearing the receipt notice of the application herein, reside legally within the territory of China.

3.申请人的护照或者其他旅行证件由出入境管理机关依法保管签发签证期间，申请人可以凭本申请收据在中国境内合法居留。

4. The exit and entry administration authority of the public security organ may verify the purpose of application through such means as interview, telephone inquiry and on-the-spot investigation.

4.公安机关出入境管理机关可以通过面谈、电话询问、实地调查等方式核实申请目的。

5. Decisions made by the exit-entry administration of public security organ on rejecting applications for visa extension or reissuance, or on not issuing foreigners' stay or residence permits or not extending the duration of residence shall be final.

5.公安机关出入境管理部门作出的拒绝签证延期、补发签证、不发给外国人居留证或者不延长居留期限的决定，为最终决定。

The right to interpret this Instruction shall reside in the Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
