One cat, Sabrina, fell 32 storeys, yet only suffered from a broken tooth. 'Cats behave like well-trained paratroopers.' a doctor said. It seems that the further cats fall, the less they are likely to injure themselves.
有一只叫萨伯瑞的猫从32层楼上掉下来，但只摔断一颗牙。“猫就像训练有素的跳伞队员，” 一位医生说。看起来，猫跌落的距离越长，它们就越不会伤害自己。

suffer作动词表示“经受、遭受”同样可以表示这个意思的还有
undergo: 多指经受艰难、痛苦、不愉快或危险等事。
experience: 指亲身经受或体验某事。
sustain: 指遭受痛苦或承受负担。
suffer: 常可与sustain通用，尤指受到损害或伤害。
所以在文章中表示猫受到伤害时，使用的是suffer而不是undergo，什么时候用undergo呢？比如
She has undergone chemotherapy and radiation.她经历了化疗和放疗。
在使用suffer，后面常跟from或for，两者意思不一样。一个是源于，一个for表示原因，因…而倒霉，或受…之苦
It seems that the further cats fall, the less they are likely to injure themselves.
在这个句子中采用的句型是the more …, the more的用法，表示越…越…，
句子中就是越远…，越少…
在使用这种象形时，要注意使用的是倒装句。
The more dangerous it is, the more I like it. 越危险我越喜欢。
