“In,On,At”在表示地点时有什么区别呢？我们先来看几个例句。
There is a grocery in the neighborhood.附近有一家杂货店。 There is a grocery on this street.这条街有一家杂货店。 There is a grocery at the end of this street.这条街的尽头有一家杂货店。
一、我们在描述一个不具体的范围时用“In”，描述一个很具体的位置或一个点时用“At”，描述一个比较具体的位置且在一个平面上时用“On”。例如：
He lives in New York.他住在纽约。 He lives on 7th Avenue in New York.他住在纽约第七大道。 He lives at 40 Avenue, New York.他住在纽约第七大道40号。
二、描述一个封闭或者不封闭的立体空间使用“In”，描述某物在某个楼层上使用“On”，描述具体的某个点和位置时用“At”。例如：
There is a gym in this building.这栋楼里有一个健身房。 The gym is on the second floor of this building. 健身房在这栋楼的2楼。The gym is at the corner on the second floor.健身房在2楼的拐角处。
三、“In,On,At”如何使用还要看句子表达的意思是什么，强调什么。强调一个不确定的范围或某个空间用“In”，强调某个地点用“At”，强调在一个平面上用“On”。例如：
He parked his car in the car park, and he has a job at the car park.他把他的车停在停车场里，他在停车场有一个工作。
We had dinner at a restaurant, and there were many people in the restaurant.我们在一家餐馆吃饭，餐馆里有很多人。

四、介词“In,On”在乘坐交通工具上时如何使用。如果乘坐交通工具时，人可以在里面站起来走来走去用“on”，反过来，人只能坐在里面，不能站起来走来走去时用“In”。例如:乘坐“Bus, Train, Subway, Plane, Ship”等用“On”，乘坐"Car, Helicopter, Taxi,Truck" 等用"In"。
I left my wallet on the bus.我把钱包留在公交车上了。 It's too crowded. I can't get in the car. 太挤了，我没法上车。
五、“ On the tree”与“ In the tree”的区别
如果把树看作一个整体，物品附着在树枝上用“On”，如果把视角集中在树的一部分，不是附着在树枝上时用“In”。例如:
The presents are hanging on the Christmas tree.圣诞树上挂了很多礼物。The apples are on the tree.树上结了很多苹果。

六、其他固定表达
1.“ In the hospital”与“ At the hospital”的区别。 He is in the hospital right now. 他现在是个住院病人（正在接受治疗）。 He is at the hospital right now. 他现在在医院 (他是一个探望病人的人、或者职员、或者门诊病人，是一个出现在医院的人，不是住院病人)
2. “ In school”与“ At school”的区别。 He is still in school. 他还在上学 (他的身份是一个学生) 。He is still at school. 他还在学校 (在学校某个地方，他的身份不一定是学生)。类似的用法还有“ In prison (入狱)”与“ At prison(在监狱里，不一定是罪犯”。
