逃生围阱
PSCO一般会检查围阱逃生通道的防火门（2002年之后要求A-60 级防火门，02之前只要求自闭钢门）是否能够自闭，门框上的嵌条是否脱落、门上的把手或锁眼是否脱落等。检查四周和底部平台是否铺设了 A-60 防火材料。对于 2002 年 7 月 1 日及以后安放龙骨的船舶，围壁脱险通道的净尺寸不得小于 800 X800mm，具体尺寸要求参考：MSC Circulars / MSC.1/Circ.1511，并且还应设置应急照明。检查围阱内梯子是否跟机舱内传热面解除，如果接触需做防火材料包裹。

火灾探测与报警系统
机舱内是否也要设置火灾探测系统？
这个是必然的, SOLAS2000修正案第II-2章第10.5.1条明确要求：内设燃油锅炉或燃油装置的A类机器处所配备固定式灭火系统。
SOLAS2010修正案第II章第7.4条以下处所应设置固定式火灾与报警装置：
A fixed fire detection and fire alarm system shall be installed in:
.1 periodically unattended machinery spaces;（无人机舱）
.2 machinery spaces where:
.2.1 the installation of automatic and remote control systems and equipment has been approved in lieu of continuous manning of the space; and（设备可以遥控操作）
.2.2 the main propulsion and associated machinery including sources of main source of electrical power are provided with various degrees of automatic or remote control and are under continuous manned supervision from a control room; and（在集控室内可以连续监控）
.3 enclosed spaces containing incinerators（焚烧炉处所）
并且要求这个报警系统的信号要于一般的报警信号有区别，声光报警并且强度足够，保证驾驶室和值班轮机员听到和看到该报警信号。
另外，SOLAS2000修正案第II-2章第10.5.6要求：500总吨及以上客船和2,000总吨及以上货船还需要配备局部灭火系统。
